Coaching Requirements

How to Become a YMCA Volunteer Coach

Coaches in our youth sports leagues teach fundamentals, instill enthusiasm and model character skills for children and teens ages 3-17.

The following are each locations Sport Coordinators:

Robertson County YMCA: Alan Brewster

Brentwood: Braden Hammond

Donelson/Mt. Juliet: Matt Green

Below covers some important information that you will need to COMPLETE to be able to coach:

*(Returning coaches- please review these steps as some of the instructions have changed.  We will need all coaches to complete these 3 steps)

The following are the 3 items that have to be completed by the first day of the season:

  1. VOLUNTEER APPLICATION: You will find the Volunteer Coaching Application attached to this email.  Please return completed form to your designated location you are coaching with.
  2. BACKGROUND CHECK: This is required of all volunteers at the YMCA and expires in 1 year.  The background check will be e-mailed to you from, Applicantdirect@asurint.com, Subject line: Background Check Request from YMCA Middle Tennessee.  Once you received this e-mail you have 48 hours to complete. Please check your junk and/or spam box.
  3. COACHES ONLINE TRAINING You will receive an email from our HR Department letting you know you have been enrolled in the YMCA of Middle Tennessee Youth Sports Coach Training 2019-2020

This course will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. 

The email from HR will include your credentials for logging into the website correctly.  If for some reason you do not receive this email, please let me know so I can make sure we get you assigned- as this is an important part of being a YMCA Coach.
